Community Performances

WhyArts?, an organization committed to bringing the arts to individuals of all ages, background and abilities, will work with the Ballet to present dance workshops and residencies in the Omaha area.

Heartland Youth Ballet

Continuing the tradition begun in 1996 with a student production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Robin Welch Dance Arts is forming Heartland Youth Ballet, a new company for young dancers. Its purpose is to provide highly-motivated young classical dancers with the technical training, artistic development, and practical experience needed to pursue professional performing careers.

Rachel Vickrey – familiar to the Omaha community as principal dancer with the Omaha Theater Ballet and Sugar Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker at the Orpheum Theater – will serve as the co-artistic director of the Heartland Youth Ballet along with Robin Welch, former artistic director of the Omaha Theater Ballet.
