Showcase 2012 Info
Important Showcase Schedule
Hi Everyone!
As our Showcase Performance gets closer and closer, I want to make sure you are aware of all of the rehearsals associated with the preparation of the production. There will be a huge amount of information in this document so please read carefully. I’m sure I’ve forgotten something important so please let me know immediately.
All participants in the Spring Showcase will receive 2 free tickets to the performance. You are welcome to buy more tickets at our new online store for $10 each where you can also buy one of our Commemorative Showcase 2012 “You’re the Star” Tee Shirts. Because we are working so hard on the Showcase dances right now, please try extra hard to get students to their classes and Showcase classes. We will set a day aside in late April or May for parents to pick- up costumes for the performance. Please be on time for rehearsals as we will begin on time and both your child and their fellow students in the Showcase dance will end up unprepared!
Although the school will have its last day on May 12, the week of May 14 – 19 is set aside for evening rehearsals at our studio. Below is the schedule for that week.

Sunday, May 20th Performance Day Scottish Rite Theater 202 S. 20th, East Door
Please do not be late – it will take time to find the theater and park, get to the proper place in the theater, sign-in, & begin the rehearsal! The sign-in sheet will be in the lobby of the theater. All students (or their parents) must sign in.
We will do what is called a “spacing” of each class dance. This is very important for students to feel comfortable onstage and understand how to translate from the use of space in the studio, to the theater! Then, we will do a “dress rehearsal” for students to practice their dance onstage in costume and with theatrical lighting. There is a separate sign in for the “dress rehearsal.”
There is no need for costumes for the “spacing” rehearsal but you must bring it/them to the theater and place it in the proper dressing room. Bring below things for the day and place in your dressing room – extra hair pins, hair spray, hair nets, all of your make-up even though you may already have it on, practice clothes, tights, shoes and anything else that is a part of your costumes.
