August 27 – Day of Dance – Free sample ballet, jazz, tap, acting and musical theater classes – Take as many of our sample classes as you can fit in – FREE! It’s a fun day to explore your interests. Bring all your friends!

September 17 – Final auditions for Heartland Youth Ballet – If you would like to dance in our student company and haven’t yet auditioned – here’s your last chance for our 2011-2012 Season!

Audition times: 1:00-2:00 ages 8-11 and 2:00-3:00 ages 12 and up

September 17 – Auditions for Winter Wonderland – We need dancers AND singers of all ages and sizes for this fun production to be performed September 3-4 at the Scottish Rite Theater in

Audition time: 3:15 – 4:15 for ages 7 – 11 and 4:15-5:15  for ages 12 and up

November 21 – 26 - Thanksgiving Vacation – Winter Wonderland rehearsals will be held during this vacation

December 3 – 4 – (Sun. & Mon.) Winter Wonderland Performances - Online tickets will be available in the near future

December 19 – 31 – Holiday Vacation – Have a wonderful holiday!

February 28 – HYB tentative adjudication of pieces – Regional Dance America adjudicator will arrive in Omaha to view Heartland Youth Ballet pieces.

March 19 – 24 – Spring Vacation – Will spring ever come?

April 30 – May 6 – Regional Dance America Festival and Performance in Montreal – Heartland Youth Ballet company members will travel to Montreal to participate in performances and classes at the Festival.

May 7 – Classes resume

May 12 – Last day of classes

May 14 – 19 – Showcase rehearsals - Rehearsals will be held in the evenings for our Showcase performance at our studios at 8801 F. Street.

May 20 & 21 – Showcase performances – Online tickets will be available. Performance schedule TBA.

Sliding Scale Tuition

In order to encourage each student’s growth and development, ALL classes except SPRING SHOWCASES are charged on a sliding tuition scale – which means the more classes you take, the less each individual class costs – the entire tuition is discounted! Payments run September through May (9 months) whether there are 5 weeks or 1 week in a month. If you choose to pre-pay (pay for the entire year up front), the price is already discounted!

The maximum total tuition for all classes per year is $1,920 (excluding spring showcase fees). Any student whose total tuition equals $1,920.00 per year may take unlimited classes at the appropriate level.

A non-refundable registration fee of $50 is required per family to register for class. We no longer will charge a monthly payment plan fee.

Showcase Tuition

Tuition for Showcases is due in full by the December 1. Showcase tuition is due in 3 payments – September 15, October 15, and November 15. The fee helps us pay for rehearsal and teacher time, costumes, theater rental, and production and technical staff.

First and highest priced tuition showcase is full price. Subtract $25 for each additional showcase!

$135 Showcase Fee for: Creative Movement, Pre-Dance, Ballet I, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Musical Theater and Acting.

$175 Showcase Fee for: Ballet II, Ballet III, Ballet IV, and Ballet V.
